Unwanted people and their suffering

According to our civilization’s old history, unwanted people have always been accused of being sick, criminals, foreigners, witches, dirty, or dangerously stupid.

In recent days medical terms have replaced the old insults against unwanted people and psychiatric institutions have been used for taking care of them in a more clean and less cruel way. But am I right to say that the modern way is a less cruel way? Psychiatry and psychiatric drugs are nonetheless a kind of punishment and exclusion through little or heavy emotional and physical anaesthesia. While little or much anaesthesiated, one can’t talk, want, feel, or move correctly without getting little or much hurt. Unhopefully, there is not only anaesthesia and damage the problem for unwanted people who are obliged to take psychiatric drugs, but also forced confinement and exclusion. None wants a ‘zombie’ around, neither as a friend. If it is very difficult to convince a psychiatric institution to set free, it is extremely difficult too to convince family and friends to care. In both cases love seems to be the answer.
